Location : Ubud – Bali

On Location: Heal your soul at Bali Spirit Festival 2013

The sixth Bali Spirit Festival was held in Ubud, Bali from 20 – 24 March 2013. This event is to celebrate the wisdoms and unite the people with the same visions to spread global idea of unity and to connect souls to the universe through the connection to God, nature and amongst humans. These connections are called Tri Hita Karana in Hinduism that exists in Bali for generations and was the theme for the festival this year. The event was set out in two different places in Ubud area; Purnati Centre for the Arts at which the day activities took place and the Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) which served as the venue for night time performance. The main events were music, yoga and meditation as well as some additional programs.

The year’s music and Bhakti music was presented by world’s class musicians such as;  Nahko & Medicine for the people, Rupa & The April Fishes, Noam Blat, Dustin Thomas, Sacred Earth. While the Yoga sessions were led by world’s professional yogis; such as: Simon Low, Danny Paradise, Judy Krupp, John Oglivie, Anastasis. Famous names such as; Yogacharya Ananda, Indra Widjanarko, Satyadharma Saraswati, Vinn Marti, John Wong led Personalities Leading Meditation. The event was featuring the Brazilian Martial Art of Capoeira by Noko, and the art installation presented by a Balinese artist, Made Muliana Banyak.

As we know, Ubud is a town in central Bali, is far removed from the bikini scene in Kuta, and is regarded as the cultural centre of Bali. It is famous as an arts and crafts hub, and much of the town and nearby villages seems to consist of artists’ workshops and galleries. There are some remarkable architectural and other sights to be found, and a general feeling of well being to be enjoyed, all thanks to the spirit, surroundings, and climate of the place. So don’t forget to buy something from here. While Ubud seems to outsiders like one small town, it is in fact fourteen villages, each run by its own banjar (village committee). Ubud has grown rapidly, and some central parts are creaking under the strain of coping with the number of visitors. Growth continues apace, but there are still terraced rice fields along the rivers, and away from the town centre, regular, quiet village life carries on relatively undisturbed. It is a perfect place to held this event.

During the festival, strong vibe of unity sprang up amongst the people involved. All have their own mind to share through self expressions, to learn, to receive and to give. The festival which combined dance, yoga, meditation and music has created a small international community for those who had similar ideas of celebrations as the world has been craving for global wisdoms and awakening to awaken more positive energy and to unite to become one. We are one and each one of us is connected by the same root which centers in our heart, spirit and awakening vibration.

The experience was abundant to have yoga workshop all day, music and dancing during the night. These 5 days extremely remarkable world event had taken people’s mind away for a moment to be a part of magical and gorgeous Ubud area. The ultimate energy was shared amongst the yogis, world musicians and all fellowships. Everyone was happy to be themselves and share. It was an inspiring moment of togetherness where the sense of belonging was strongly shown. The uplifting music from several continents were energizing and giving the vibrant of magic. The qualities were to awaken and nourish the individual’s potential for positive change within, leading to positive changes in homes, in communities, and generally in global societies in the world. The changes will not stop when the festival was over, but will keep growing and spreading among others and getting more and more people to recognize. The next year’s event would be the continuation of the Global Awakening where more souls and spirits are becoming one.
