Gitgit Waterfall

Gitgit waterfall, we planed to visit this waterfall during our office holiday. Even the journey was far, it worth every minutes If you love nature. Dress comfortably with a proper footwear such as sandals. Most of the area and terrain are very well maintain with small step. The walk is probably not well suited for the elderly or unfit. If you are not rushing with time, you should take your time to explore this place. The site was clean and peaceful – even after a fair bit of rain. The water was crystal clear, and cool to swim in.

The waterfalls are located in the village of Gitgit, Sukasada District, Buleleng, Bali. It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours away by car or motorcycle. From Denpasar can be taken towards the road to Bedugul and continued north toward Singaraja.

The first waterfall is twin waterfall. To be able to enjoy the beauty of this waterfall, there is an admission charge per person. Passing the trail with fresh air and green surrounding. We will hear the sound of gurgling water as the sign that we have already closed to this waterfall. As the name implies, the twin waterfalls consists of two waterfalls / streams that eventually merge into a new stream of crystal clear water.

The second waterfall was cascading waterfall. After paying the entrance, you could start jogging down the trail with a cool and shady. It is a small trek along a river sparkling down from the mountains with a whole chain of waterfalls, pools and boulders, to jump, swim, shower and sit in the water. We want do that but none of the visitors do that so we just take many picture as we can. Pleasant. Absolutely natural, and refreshing! You walk around a few minutes. It will go through on a bridge with a beautiful view in front of us.

The rushes of white water clear so beautiful. This waterfall consists of several levels because it is referred to as a cascading waterfall. There are several gazebos to just relax or to capture the beauty of this cascading waterfall. You can take a shower if you want to feel the coolness and clarity of the water here that will make your body feel more refreshed. In the waterfall area there are also stalls that provide instant noodles or hot drinks. It is suitable enjoyed looking at the beautiful waterfalls on it. We had our packed lunches down there and it was a peaceful place to be.

Our guide was very nice and even makes me a walking stick for climbing. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and showed us coffee and cacao, vanilla and cloves all growing along the track.

Please remember that It is a few hours drive from the main areas of Kuta/Seminyak, but if you hire a driver he will wait and pick you up at the bottom so you don’t need to hike all the way back to the top.

Overall, the impression was of a well run locally owned attraction that did not seek to gouge visitors. While some may quibble at the price, we’ve seen a lot of indigenously run enterprises in a bunch of countries that offered much less for more. If the money is ploughed back into the community, we are cool with it. We would strongly recommend this as something beautiful (and fun) to slip into a day trip to central/northern Bali.

Please have your breakfast or brunch; I skip mine cause we had to leave early and ended up with a bad motion sickness from the journey, the first surprisingly.  There were drinks and the inevitable knick-knacks for sale, but it was not over the top.

Hi just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the pictures aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different web browsers and both show the same outcome.
